Item Description
3.75” dia. 6.25” tall. Stoneware pottery. c. 1900. Bottom marked “Germany.” Text is in both English and German. One side reads “International Union Of United Brewery Workers/The Union Made Beer Ale And Porter Of America Trademark Registered.” Other side reads “Beer Brewers Union No. 5/Founded 1886 Phila. PA.” On each side in German reads “Malt And Hops/Natural Erhalts.” Front of mug shows raised image of king sitting in throne with 2 men shaking hands in the foreground. All is detailed and elaborate. Noticeable crazing. Glaze is crazed around top portion of the handle and top of the mug. Scattered imperfections are noticeable under close inspection including tiny chip on rim edge. However, the detail of the text/image remains eye-catching. Overall VG. Displays Fine.
