Auction #199 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 972 in auction 199
Item Description
3.5” button reads “To Hell Mit The Arabs.” Reverse has inked date notation of 1974. In 1968 the Popular Front For Liberation of Palestine carried out its first hijacking. The tragedy at the Olympics in Munich, Germany occurred in 1972. This button was likely inspired by these earlier events as well as the April and May 1974 attacks in Israel during which 45 were killed, many of them children. Very slight bit of some color tone around a few of the blue letters but pretty much as made and piece still displays close to Mint. Only example we’ve seen.
