Item Description
2.25x3x3/8” deep box contains pair of original 1.5” dia. candy lozenges. c. 1934 issued by Pechuer Lozenge Co. of Brooklyn, NY. Box text includes “Collect 40 Covered Wagon Pictures/Cut Out Covered Wagon Pictures.” Top and bottom box panels feature the numbered cards that were to be cut out and these are #5 – “Buffalo Bill Indian Fighter” and #6 – “Sacred War Clubs.” Box has slightest trace of aging along edges but remains tight and clean. Exc. The candy lozenges feature portrait images of Buffalo Bill on one and Sitting Bull on the other. Both have some scattered dust soiling but remain complete and intact. VF. This is the only known surviving example of a complete box with candy. A true rarity for gum card and candy box collectors.
