Auction #200 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1186 in auction 200
Item Description
2.25” large and heavy solid brass hanger has bar pin reverse and loop holding 5.5” tall dark blue ribbon with brass tassels. A pair of extra brass tassels are attached at sides of the badge. Small bit of white color on the dark red fabric around Cleveland’s die-cut brass bust. Badge reads: “Cleveland Democracy 1884/1888.” Below a large finely detailed brass buffalo with “N.Y.” on the side is attached firmly by 2 of original 3 brass prongs. This is a rebus that completes the wording of the upper badge with “Of (Buffalo) New York.” We’ve seen the upper brass piece a few times but the weight of the 2 brass pieces destroyed most of the ribbons so this is one of the few survivors. Extremely Fine.
