Item Description
13x17” overall. 11.5x15.5” image area. c. 1932/33. 5.25” dia. color printed image of FDR is surrounded by brightly colored painted artboard with gold glitter text and accents. Reflective gold text at top and bottom read “In Union Is Power/Justice To All.” The same reflective gold glitter reads “United Mine Workers Of America” around the FDR image. Gold and red glitter on each side reads “UMW/OF A.” Black text in circle around FDR reads “Virgil Sutton/Local Union No. 2399/Richeyville, PA.” In silver luster paint on each side of printed image reads “In Him/We Trust.” US flags appear at top with gold glitter flagpoles. Crossed picks and shovels in lower corners painted with silver luster. Glossy black paint bkg. creates Exc. contrast to the illustrations and text. Superb graphics demonstrating FDR's exalted status with union men. VF.
