Item Description
Cornelius Vanderbilt was Chairman of the Welcoming Committee which staged elaborate festivities in the Battery in NYC . This 2.5” tall badge has “June 18, 1910” on the hanger. Minor dust discoloration on the fabric. Front of the 1.25” brass medallion pictures “Theodore Roosevelt” and reverse displays torch, ribbon design and olive wreath with text below “Roosevelt/Reception June 18, 1910.” While not as graphic as the TR/Ark Welcome Home buttons used on that same day which sell in the thousands, still a very limited issue given just to those official invitees on that day. Exc. luster and overall VF.
