Auction #200 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1186 in auction 200
Item Description
1.75” with covered tin back and horizontal bar pin. Lower edge once had attached ribbon now gone that read “And The Whole Republican Ticket Nov. 7, 1916.” The example in the Hake Guide is also without the ribbon and has a 2004 Revised Price value of $1,400. Button has a pinpoint gray dot on the upper rim edge just a hair darker than the surrounding pale gray color but o/w the celluloid is close to flawless. This is a minor variety in that other examples we’ve seen had a “Shaw” of Philadelphia backpaper whereas this has a solid metal back with no maker’s name. An outstanding example.
