Item Description
23.5x23.5” overall. 20.5x20.5” image area. c. 1910. Printed color illustration of horse with text “Dan Patch 1:55.” This horse broke world speed records at least 14 times in the early 1900s, finally setting the world’s record for the fastest mile by a harness horse (1 minute, 55 seconds) during a time trial in 1906, a record that stood unmatched for 32 years. Scattered age specks under glass visible under close inspection, most noticeable in white bkg. area. Trace of hairline color loss near jaw. Not offensive. Print Fine. Comes in original dark green/black accent frame with original wavy glass. Frame has lt. wear, few scratches. Fine. An impressive print for a record-setting horse.
