3.5x5.5 advertising card for “McFadden’s Flats,” a 1927 silent comedy based on Gus Hill’s adaptation of The Yellow Kid comic “McFadden’s Row Of Flats.” Hill was known for his theatrical adaptations of comic strips from the 1890s-1920s. One card has bw illustration of man with 10 hidden faces in illustration, other side reads “The Comedy That Has Made Millions Laugh! McFadden’s Flats – New Faces, New Music, New Features, New Costumes With The Famous Yellow Kids – The Little Fellows’ Friends. A Perfect Deluge Of Delightful Fun, Bring The Kids To See The Kids.” Card was printed by Empire City Job Print. Lt. handling wear with corner tip wear. Fine. Comes with 4.5x8.25” sales order pad for Brucker & Boghien Sellers Of Cigars, Tobacco And Pipes In Philadelphia, PA. Pad is designed for use with carbon paper and originally contained 50 numbered sets of 2. Great Yellow Kid image on back of every other sheet, his shirt reading “Say! Get The High Toned 3¢ Cigar” with company name. Has 97 of original 100 sheets, each date “191_” with last numeral blank to be filled in by salesman. Lt. handling wear with wear to top few sheets. Majority are VF.
