Item Description
10.75x14” “Yellow Kids On Parade Two-Step Sheet Music.” Published by Fisk, Achenbach & Co. c. 1896. “Respectfully Dedicated To The New York Sunday World” newspaper. Upper right corner of front cover has Allentown, PA. music dealer ink stamp. Cover features 11 different images of The Yellow Kid as well as 2 images of Baby Yellow Kid. Of note, one wears dandy pink coat and top hat and another carries sign reading “Hurah Fur De Yellow Kids Klub From Hogans Alley.” Sheet music for 1896 Hogan’s Alley stage production by Gilmore & Leonard’s Hogan’s Alley Co. Front and back cover have separated at spine and sheet music shows moderate aging/handling wear. Good. Comes with 10.25x16.25” New York Tribune newspaper insert from 1896. “The Yellow Kid – The Latest And The Greatest” was published by Homer Tourje Music Pub. Co. and has 1896 copyright. Four separate images of Yellow Kid surround music. Has been mounted to thin cardboard by spray adhesive. Heavy aging and wear with numerous chips along margins. Rare as on very fragile newsprint, this being only the second example we’ve seen. Just Good.
