Item Description
33.5” long from bottom with 1.75” long cast iron cap-firing mechanism to top of 1.5x2.5” cast iron bird head handle. Rest of cane is wooden. c. late 1800s. Cap is placed in cap-firing tip and when cane is struck against ground, mechanism fires cap. Lt. traces of wear with nice patina to cast iron areas. Cap-firing mechanism is slightly loose but as likely designed. VF. Great design.
