3-3/8x6.25” pamphlet unfolds to 6.25x20.5”. “Sinbad” was a Broadway musical opening on Feb. 14, 1918 at the Winter Garden Theatre, running for 164 performances. Cast included “The Famous Black-Face Nightingale” Al Jolson, Kitty Doner, Constance Farber and Forrest Huff. A musical comedy, show served as a vehicle to capitalize on Jolson’s popularity. Pamphlet features great graphics with front panel showing Jolson in blackface wearing top hat holding dog. Pamphlet unfolds to show 6 panels with 12 different female costume designs. Back features large cast color-tinted photo with Jolson at center in blackface and 2 smaller inset images of Jolson (again in blackface) flanked by performers. Back panel has illustration of partially dressed showgirl preparing. Pamphlet has Philadelphia area Sam S. Shubert Theatre imprint on back with notice performance is beginning Oct. 14, 1918. Lt. handling wear but Exc. overall. Wonderful graphics.
