Auction #200 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1186 in auction 200
Item Description
7x10.75x6.5” deep glazed ceramic cookie jar by American Bisque Co. c. 1940s. Cookie jar has 2.5” dia. flicker/flasher image at center of front showing smiling moon that then changes to look of surprise as figural cow lid/handle jumps over it. Nighttime scene of homes appears at bottom with ringed planet and flying rocketship in sky above moon. Incised “806-USA” at bottom of back. Lid has a few scattered factory flaws that have been glazed over as well as a .25” nick on barn that has also been glazed over. Three tiny pinpoint paint/glaze nicks to house chimney. Scattered crazing as is typical. VF+. Great design. Listed in the Cookie Jar Book by Supnick at $1500.00. Extremely conservative opening bid based on that value.
