Hake #2009. This 3.5” button has 3 exceedingly minor scuffs on its cardboard back. There is no maker’s name although a union bug appears on the bottom curl. Front of the button is totally bright and clean although with a single slightly raised dot above his ear at the right caused by the bar pin on the reverse. There is some typical and very minor widely scattered surface scratching showing only in reflected light. None of this wear shows with normal viewing and the button also includes high gloss, perfect centering and no stain whatsoever. In Hake’s 2004 Revised Prices, the value is listed as $1,250 and we know of a recent sale exceeding $1,500. This example opens lower.
