2x4.6.75” tall. ©1932 by Canteen Service Co. Unusual canteen-shaped bottle designed this way for American Legion 1932 convention. Used for tomato juice. Embossed text on bottle reads “My Buddy/Canteen Service.” Paper label with unusual, detailed design. Foreground shows WWI soldier holding canteen with the words “My Buddy” in front of him. To the right reads “Canteen Service/Pure Tomato Juice.” Center of label shows 2 canteen figures with arms and legs squeezing a large tomato that is flowing into a canteen-shaped figure below. To the right there is a line of canteen figures with arms and legs headed for the back “American Legion/Portland 1932” logo. On the back of each canteen, a man is marking “OK” to each one. Label has noticeable stains/wear. Label VG. Bottle is Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
