Item Description
1.25” from a small series of about 4 different featuring this same design. This one reads at center “Defend The ‘Twelve’” while rim reads “For Your Freedom March On May Day.” Small bit of rim stain blending well with the dark red color. Two small scratches at far left show just a little in reflected light. Reverse has 1” long cello split which creates a small gap but not really making a defined bump on the outer rim edge when the piece is viewed from the front. The slogan references 12 top leaders of the Communist Party arrested in 1948 for violation of the Smith Act by conspiring to teach and advocate the overthrow of the U.S. government by force and violence. Still displays nicely with high gloss and rare.
