Item Description
Extensive collection of 44 buttons ranging in size from 1.25” to 3”. The first 1.75” button for “Hospers & Nathan” is the party’s first ever presidential campaign button from 1972. Upper right has small raised bump caused by reverse bar pin but totally clean. The next 6 buttons are for Hospers’ 1974 governor campaign. The next 1.5” button is for Edward Crane, an active party leader in the 70s and he served as national chairman from 1974 to 1977 and also founded the Cato Institute. Next are 13 buttons for 1976 candidates Macbride and Bergland. These are followed by 12 buttons and 1 name button duplicate for 1980 candidates Ed Clark and David Kock. Also from 1980 are a pair of hopeful buttons for “Bill Hunscher.” These yellow buttons show some marks on the bkg. but more as made than the result of actual age stain. Next from 1984 are 5 buttons for Bergland and Lewis. In addition from 1988 is a Ron Paul button reading “I’m ‘Bushed’ After Eight Years Of Reaganomics!/Ron Paul ’88.” Two additional buttons read “Ron Paul/Libertarian For President.” We think these are somewhat more recent than 1988. Vast majority are Exc. to Mint and the group displays Mint except as noted for the pair of 1980 hopeful buttons. See following additional collections.
