Buttons are each .75” without dot pattern. All have text in Yiddish or Hebrew. Two picture M. Olgin, a famous Yiddish writer also known as a ‘Jewish Communist’ who came to the United States in 1921. Both of these are apparent memorial buttons as he died in 1939 and these also have his date of birth “1878.” First button in bottom row pictures another Zionist and writer “L. Perez.” This button carries the date of 1940. Second button in bottom row pictures Sholem Aleichem and this has the dates of 1859-1939 apparently to mark the 80th anniversary of his birth although we believe he died earlier. This has exceedingly faint scratch at upper left. All others are essentially Mint. We’ve seen these only once before. Rare.
