The Histadrut (Federation) is the Israeli Trade Union Congress founded in Dec. 1920 to benefit Jewish workers in the British Mandate of Palestine. It became a very powerful institution in Israel and a mainstay of the Labor Zionist Movement. By 1939 there were 100,000 members comprising 75% of the work force.
