Item Description
First is a large silver luster badge 2-1/8” tall featuring helmet and fire horns at top with hose design surrounding text reading “Newburgh Active Fire Department.” Small oval plate on reverse names leading maker of these badges “Braxmar Co.” of “Maiden Lane NY.” N. Mint. Second item is all brass metal with blue enamel accent. This was issued for “11th Annual Convention/Delegate/Western, N.Y.” “Vol. Firemens Assn. Lockport, NY July 26-27 ’10.” Accented by spread-winged eagle and scene of the city’s locks. Third item is ribbon badge 4.5” tall with “Delegate” at top on blue enamel. Dark red fabric suspends brass and white metal pieces with upper part showing seal of the city while lower part has gorgeous oval celluloid insert showing the town’s waterfront along the Hudson River. These 2 pieces read in part “N.Y. State Firemen’s Ass’n/40th Annual Convention Newburgh, N.Y. August 20-23, 1912.” High quality pieces in N. Mint to Mint condition.
