Item Description
Earliest piece circa turn of the century is 1.75” tall slightly convex shield-shaped badge with crossed fire horns and helmet at top. Below is word “Schuylkill” and below this is depiction of early pumper with additional text “Fire Co. No. 12/Instituted/Feb. 2nd 1892/Reading Pa.” Exc. luster. Next is 1.75” celluloid button obviously tanned but not with stain marks. Shows huge motorized ladder truck and reads “Washington Fire Co. No. 2 Reading, Pa.” Last is 1-7/8” tall die-cut silver luster badge featuring fire symbols and with brass raised letters and numbers at center “1289E.” Rest of lettering reads “Reading Fire Dept.” Vertical pin on back is a little bent but still workable.
