Lot of 4. All c. 1930s. First is 5.5x7.5” softbound book “Swim As Easily As You Walk By Johnny Weissmuller.” ©1930. 32 pages. BVD premium. Great images throughout including one of he and Jack Dempsey. Cover has silver luster accents. Cover faded/worn with inside cover tape reinforcement at spine. Cover Good. Contents interesting and VF. Next are two 5x7” nice quality fan photos. Matte finish. One with image of him as Tarzan. Both have facsimile inscription/signature “Good Luck/Johnny Weissmuller.” One with corner tape marks/bottom margin trim. Both show lt. aging. Both Fine. Last is 8x10” glossy publicity photo c. 1939. Image of smiling Weissmuller with swimming star Eleanor Holm. Back stamp reads “Billy Rose Collection.” Holm was a star of the “Billy Rose’s Aquatic” program. Photo Fine. Nice lot relating to Weissmuller’s storied history as a swimmer which was highlighted by his 5 Olympic gold medals. He then became the star of many “Tarzan” movies. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
