Item Description
Classic 13” tall mostly tin robot designed after Robby The Robot from the cult classic film Forbidden Planet. Nomura, Japan c. 1957. Original box features lid with great illustrations on all sides. The plain box bottom has scattered aging. Lid also has moderate aging and scattered trace of wear with some surface paper rubs along edges, 1.5” split on one corner. Still about Fine. Toy works and walks forward as pistons and lights operate inside the clear plastic dome. Arms are manually adjustable, rubber hands are still pliable. Early version with pin style pulls on battery box doors. Trace of oxidation to interior of one battery box but does not affect operation. Plastic dome remains clear and free of cracks. Body has some tiny scattered paint nicks but remains exceptionally bright and glossy. Appearance remains VF/Exc. A truly classic robot.
