Item Description
Tin litho toy consists of 8” tall main tower plus wire assembly which opens to 20” in length and has a pair of attached 4” long planes with celluloid propellers. 1930s. Box includes instructions on back panel. Box flattened with heavy wear including creases and teas and loose end flaps. Box could be assembled for display but just comes along. Toy has built-in key and works. Airplanes revolve in an up-and-down fashion due to angled shaft that holds the wire assembly. Propellers revolve rapidly as planes fly. Tower has great lithography featuring soldiers manning anti-aircraft guns at air base, planes flying and being hit by aircraft fire, etc. Pinpoint paint nicks and tiny scratches but all remains exceptionally bright and glossy. Airplanes show very little wear, propellers complete and intact rather than as usually found either broken and/or missing. Exc. Great design.
