Item Description
Lot of 2. First is 12.5x19” glossy paper one-sided sheet “Illustrated Current News”, part of a series created for offices/factories to post at bulletin boards/time clocks for thier employee's benefit/enjoyment. This is for Nov. 27, 1933 #3153. Text reads “Three Little Pigs Creator Honored/Walt Disney, Creator Of Silly Symphonies And Mickey Mouse, Was Presented With A Diploma Of Commendation From The National Academy Of Fine Arts Of Buenos Aires Argentina For His Biggest And Latest Hit, The Three Little Pigs. He Is Shown Receiving The Diploma From The Argentine Consule While Mickey And Minnie Look On Approvingly.” This is in reference to the dolls behind him which are the extremely rare Charlotte Clark 44” tall display dolls which we sold in Auction #192 for a record $151,534. Lt. wear along original fold lines, trace of margin aging but still clean and Fine. A great piece to frame. Second is 8x10” vintage publicity photo dated on reverse Nov. 21, 1934. Text on reverse in Spanish basically translates to “Walt Proudly Displays The Gold Medal By An American Film Magazine For The Three Pigs Considered The Best Short Film.” Walt is shown with dolls of The Big Bad Wolf and Three Little Pigs. Lower right corner bears number “UMM-256.” Moderate handling wear but glossy and Fine. Great pair. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
