11.25x17x2.5” deep box contains set No. 1536, c. 1935. Lid nicely illustrated on all sides. Plain box bottom has heavy wear and aging with 1.5x1.5” piece missing at one corner. Lid also has wear/aging with a 5” tear at top left corner that extends to side panel as well as a 5” jagged tear at lower right corner area. Bottom side panel of lid has a pair of 2” tears, few additional scattered small punctures and staining along left side although mostly only noticeable on interior. Despite defects, graphics remain quite nice and corners of lid are tight. Lid still about VG while box bottom is just Good. Train consists of 7” long wind-up painted metal engine, 4” long coal car with attached painted composition figure of Mickey Mouse, three different 6” long tin litho train cars. The engine works and comes with a key but front has an opening for light bulb which is no longer present. Left side of engine has separate “Lionel Lines” tin sign. This side has small scattered traces of paint wear. Opposite side has additional traces of paint wear along edges including some st. surface oxidation. Fine. Coal car is marked “Mickey Mouse Stoker” and Mickey is depicted holding metal shovel. Figure is designed to move up and down as if he is shoveling as the train travels. Small scattered traces of wear to both figure and tin car. Fine. The 3 train cars each have different title and these are “Mickey Mouse Circus/Mickey Mouse Band/Circus Dining Car.” Each features great illustrations on all 4 sides which include Mickey and Minnie, Horace, Clarabell, Donald Duck, Pluto, Big Bad Wolf, Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother as well as circus animals. All have small scattered traces of wear and aging including some paint nicks and scratches. Each retains a bright appearance. All remain Fine. There is a 5” tall painted composition figure of Mickey as a circus barker. This has moderate scattered trace of paint wear, more so on back than front, but remains bright, clean and structurally sound. Still displays Fine. Has just single die-cut cardboard accessory piece of Mickey driving circus truck. This shows scattered wear and is VG. All other cardboard pieces are missing including the circus tent and additional accessories. No track is included but generic and can be easily found.
