Item Description
11.25x18” frame contains mat to display two 7x8” pages which form the cover and interior page issued as a 50-page booklet titled “Inaugural Ceremonies – Washington D.C. - March 4th 1897 - Souvenir Of National Capitol.” Because of spine damage to booklet, only these 2 sheets have been saved. They have been professionally framed with museum quality materials and non-glare glass. Display has pair of 6.75x7.5” openings for display. In addition to the color cover, is the bw page #28. This has full page ad for High Admiral Cigarettes featuring The Yellow Kid, his shirt reading “Say! Ye Want Te Be Dead Careful About Usin Me Face Cause Its Rented See!” There are cigarettes behind his ear, in both hands and between his toes as well as lit cigarettes in his pocket. Ad reads “The Cigarettes To Smoke Are The Yellow Kid, The Admiral And The High Admiral – With Each Package Of These The Smoker Gets One Of Outcault’s Valuable Series Of Original Comic Yellow Kid Buttons.” Cover has publication title in faint erased pencil on top margin. This shows somewhat but displays Mint. Ready to hang. Only example we’ve seen.
