Item Description
14X18” paper print on cardboard as issued titled “The Roosevelt Bears On Fifth Ave.” Scene is one of the plates from their first book as described in the previous item. There are 6 chips into the cardboard around the lower 3 edges, apparently from once being nailed up for display plus upper two corners are missing pieces. There is a stain 7.5” tall by 2.5” deep on lower right plus some tanning extending over the print title on bottom edge but this blends rather well. Numerous rubs on the blank reverse which is deeply tanned. Overall VG condition and could be matted and framed to cover nearly all visible damage. Possibly used as a book seller’s window display to promote the 1906 first edition. Rare and only example we’ve seen. From the Richard Merkin Collection. Comes with Hake’s COA.
