Item Description
Large 3.5x5” stiff card designed to be saved as souvenir after removal of admission ticket portion from right perforated margin. Ticket text includes “Saturday, May 27, 1961/National Guard Armory/Washington D.C.” and has serial number in red of “6688.” To lower right of his photo, JFK boldly signed “John F Kennedy.” In addition, the blank reverse has the scarce in-person large autograph of “Lyndon B. Johnson.” The only trace of age is a pair of narrow lines .25” and 1/8” long at lower right of JFK photo caused by a paperclip rub. All else is essentially Mint. The signed ticket stub is accompanied by a letter from Victor Frenkil, on his stationery, typed 9 days after the event at which Frenkil obtained the signatures. He was a successful businessman in the construction industry in Baltimore. He was a friend of our consignor’s stepfather and Frenkil’s letter sent with the ticket stub is dated June 5, 1961 and reads: “Dear Captain McFarland: Enclosed Is The Ticket To The President’s Birthday Dinner, Which Has Been Autographed By The President And Vice President Of The United States. Thought You Might Enjoy Having It/With Kindest Regards, Sincerely, V. Frenkil.” Certainly among the relative few items signed by both JFK and LBJ. Could be framed so both sides are displayable. Comes with Hake’s COA.
