Item Description
First is what seems to be a silver disk with inset inscription in black enamel “16 to 1.” Small scratches on the surface on close inspection but still displays Exc. Second is an unusual stickpin. Mounted at the top is a silvered disk 7/8” in dia. with the number “16” at the center. A brass ring holds a much smaller disk below. This is only 3/8” in dia. and has the numeral “1” at its center. Both pieces originally had more silvering but much of this disappeared as the coating was so thin although silver traces do remain mostly on the larger piece. Next are a pair of 7/8” celluloid buttons. The first was issued by “American Oval Crimped Seam Cigarette” and reads “The Banks Don’t Want Free Silver/I Do/I Don’t Own A Bank.” The second was issued by “High Admiral Cigarette” and reads “I’m For Free Silver.” First button is rare and essentially Mint. The second is scarce and Exc. The two metal pieces are both rare.
