Item Description
1.25” picturing 5 Japanese men in military uniform with text in English above and in Japanese below. We are pretty certain the man at the upper left is Togo Heihaciro who at the time was the Fleet Admiral of Imperial Japanese Navy. Western journalists called him “Nelson of the East.” This is a USA-produced button, probably issued just after Theodore Roosevelt mediated the war’s end. Reverse has couple of tan dots around the collet but the piece is complete with its Hoegee, Los Angeles backpaper although this has lt. tan stain. Button front displays Exc. Only example we’ve seen.
