Item Description
1-1/8” litho with the word “Zippie!” above the party initials “Y.I.P.” The party was founded in 1968 as a counter-cultural off-shoot of the free speech and anti-war movements. This particular button was used by Yippies demonstrating in 1972 at the Democratic National Convention. There is a purple button which was used at the Republican Convention. See additional items that relate to the groups’ founders: a rare Jerry Rubin for Mayor poster #196, Yippie handbill #201 and Abbie Hoffman poster #215. An outstanding exceptionally Mint example.
