Item Description
Lot of 4 circa 1920. Each is 3.5x5-3/8”. Images include Emilano Zapata and brother Eufamio Zapata with 2 pretty women in courtyard, Pancho Villa sitting on train steps, Pancho Villa standing between generals Ortega and Herrera and Emilano Zapata on horseback with two armed men nearby. Emilano Zapata, whose name was also spelled Emiliano was a leading figure in the Mexican revolution which broke out in 1910. He formed and commanded an important revolutionary force “The Liberation Army Of The South” during the Mexican Revolution and died in 1919. Eufamio whose name is also spelled “Eufemio” fought alongside his brother and died in 1917. Pancho Villo was commander of the division of the North and died in 1923. Pancho Villo card with 2 generals has 2 heart-shaped punch holes near top. Emulsion has yellowed a bit with age on all 4 cards. Overall Fine. Cards appear to be made in USA as most of reverse side text is in English. Nice images.
