c. 1951. 3.75x8.5” folded sheet of “Princeton University Weekly Bulletin” for Oct. 27, 1951 opens to 11x17”. Blank reverse has hand-written notes in pencil. Listing many notes and numbers, it is difficult to decipher handwriting including “Cady, Italy – On Cutting Instruments, On Each Piece Of Cutlery, On The Knives, On The Blade, On The Floor, Spoon, Die Sunk” and a short to-do list on the front which reads in part “Nov. ’51 To Do 1-Frank McKinney 2-German, Rumain, Italian, French, 3-Shoes, 4-Suits (2).” Berg (1902-1972) had his Major League debut with the Brooklyn Robins in 1923 and had his last appearance with the Boston Red Sox Sep. 1, 1939. He was a member of the 1933 American League champion Washington Senators and member of the 1934 All-Star team that toured Japan. Berg was hired by the CIA to use his old contacts from WWII to find out about Soviet atomic science progress. Small separations along fold intersections, some lt. creasing and lt. overall soiling from pencil. VG. Unusual baseball-related item.
