Item Description
9” tall made by Cuno and Otto Dressel Doll Co. From their portrait series made in 1896. Others made include Buffalo Bill, Admiral Sampson, Farmer, Old Rip and Uncle Sam. Solid dome bisque socket head with molded hair, mustache and goatee. Fixed black glass eyes, jointed composition body with molded boots. Fully dressed in original Navy uniform with gilt trim, brass buttons, cast white metal belt buckle with eagle, cast metal white sword and epaulettes and black felt hat with gilt cloth trim. A few chest decorations have tarnished. Gilt trim of hat has .5” area of mild fraying. Composition hands have darkened somewhat with age. Displays VF. Beautiful original condition. Rare.
