Two items. “Newburgh Semi-Weekly Journal” newspaper. Front page is 17.5x22” dated Jul. 5, 1910 published in Newburgh, NY. Additional text includes “Colored Pugilist Puts Jeff To Sleep In The Fifteenth Round,” Facts About Fight, Early Scenes Around The Arena-A Great Rush For Tickets-Food Is Scarce." Left side has photo of Jeffries and lower right has photo of Johnson. As shrink-wrapped on cardboard newspaper is evenly tanned with bit of wear to centerfold. Newspaper title has small address label as issued. VG. Comes with 3-5/8x6.5” illustrated newspaper coupon shrink-wrapped on cardboard with graphics of both men fighting and text “Jeffries Vs. Johnson Admit One To The Valencia Theater Or The Auditorium Monday, July 4. Compliments Of The S.F. Examiner.” Right side has portion to be clipped off with text “W.W. Naughton’s Full Detailed Story Of The Big Fight By Direct Wire.” Issued for a remote broadcast, possibly blow-by-blow description. Evenly tanned with faint moisture mark in center.
