Text reads “July 4, 1910 Heavyweight Championship Of The World James J. Jeffries Vs. Jack Johnson San Francisco, Cal. Reno, Nevada Big League (2) Games.” Text across bottom “I Love Those ‘Double-Headers’ But ‘Oh, You Jeffries-Johnson Fight’.” Card printed by Woods Inc. Printers And Engravers Los Angeles. Card has scattered lt. dust soiling with a few lt. creases here and there. Tiny bit of corner tip wear. Unused and VG. The fight, organized by famed promoter Tex Rickard was originally set for July 4, 1910 in San Francisco as the postcard states, however, California Governor James Gilette withdrew support June 15, 1910 forcing Rickard to re-schedule in Reno as seen on this card by ink stamp of “Reno, Nevada” over-printed location of “San Francisco, Cal.” Interesting postcard promoting major league baseball and world famous fight.
