Item Description
15.25x41.25” wood frame with 11.25x37.25” opening has cardboard mount with 7.5x33.75” photo in center. Shows 17 players with 15 in full uniforms and bat boy at far right in uniform standing on ball field with stadium in bkg. Photo credit at lower right C. Miller Hindmarsh photo May 29 ’11 Lincoln. Stadium signs include smoking tobacco with large image of bull, Western Brew beer, and Santa Fe the Railroad to California. Players’ last names and positions are shown just below each player. Ink correction, done at the time, to two players names who were switched in error as printed. In 1905 the Sioux City Soos were re-named the Sioux City Packards. They went back to the Siouxs nickname in 1908 and ended the season in first place. They brought back the Packards name in 1910 and won the title that year with a 108-60 record. By 1911 they had an 85-80 record placing them in a tie for 4th place. Frame has scattered lt. wear around edges. Mount has bit of aging. Photo has trace of lt. dust soil but o/w clean and VF. Wonderful image ready for display. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
