Auction #201 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1408 in auction 201
Item Description
18x21" wooden frame has 13.5x16.5" opening with 10.25x13.25" opening revealing nice photo of smiling Demars in Miami Marlins uniform. Demars played professionally with the Brooklyn Dodgers during the second world war and with the Philadelphia Athletics in 1947. He spent the prime of his career with the AAA Toronto Maple Leafs of the International League from 1952 to 1955. In 1958 Demars began an 11-year Minor League managerial career in the Baltimore Orioles farm system. This 1966 photo is from the only season he managed the Miami Marlins of the Florida State League. As framed and matted with text stickers on bottom of frame, photo has the appearance of something that would have hung in the offices of the Marlins. Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
