Item Description
1.75x2x4” tall thin cardboard box with text “Made In Occupied Japan” by maker Tahara. Has graphics on front and back of full figure frog with cane smiling and smoking a cigarette while both side panels and end flaps have close-up image of him smoking cigarette. Box has wear around edges with shallow dent on right side, front panel has 1.25” crease and one .25” tear. Lt. dust soil. VG but complete. Tin litho/celluloid figure has built-in key on back. 4” tall overall. Smiling with cigarette in mouth and cane in left hand wearing hat. When wound, figure rocks to the left and right and moves forward. Tin litho feet have trace of lt. oxidation. VG. Cello figure is Exc. Working. Wonderful design. First we’ve seen in our 44+ years.
