Item Description
2.25x2-7/8” chrome accent metal buckle has wonderful enamel image of Krazy standing at right holding umbrella with Ignatz behind him throwing a brick with moon and desert vista in bkg. Has attached 1-7/8x42.5” long leather belt. Unmarked but made by Louis Mueller, a contemporary studio jeweler, sculptor and designer of furniture and overall artist and associate of Richard Merkin at the Rhode Island School of Design where he was a department chair. Mueller’s work was included in the permanent collections of the American Craft Museum in New York City, The Museum Of Fine Arts in Boston and Victoria & Albert Museum in London. c. 1970s. Patina is lightly aged but buckle Exc. Unique. Exc. The cigarette case we offered by Louis Mueller in Auction #200 sold for $556. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
