Well known Swiss manufacturer Zitura produced 4 different lines of Andy Warhol watches from 1997 to 2001. This watch is from the “Collector’s Line,” their finest and most expensive of the 4 (others were Factory Line, Soho Collection, Exclusive Line). Watch has 1x1.5” 18k gold case. Dial features choice portrait image of Marilyn Monroe in vibrant colors. One of 2 different color schemes produced of Marilyn in this collector’s line. Version with genuine leather band as opposed to metal link band. From an extremely limited edition of just 99, text on back of case includes “Limited Edition – No. 22/99 100% Swiss Made – 18k.” Facsimile signature of Warhol as part of title “Andy Warhol by Zitura” is repeated on the original box, hinged case, back of watch case and back of band. The hinged case is blue leather covered with white interior including separate pillow-like piece that the watch wraps around for display purposes. Band shows very minor creasing as originally packaged but watch appears to have never been worn and is o/w N. Mint. Battery operated but needs a new battery. Highest quality and design. We have seen these Warhol time pieces priced at $5,000+ on the secondary market. This watch has an extremely conservative opening bid based on that.
