All items are from the Warren Publishing Co. archives (as in part Barbarella served as inspiration for Warren’s Vampirella character created by Forest Ackerman). First item is 9.5x12.5” second printing of American Edition by Grove Press ©1966. Book is a compilation of “The First Comic Strip For Grown-Ups” by Jean-Claude Forest. Barbarella first appeared in book form in her native France in 1964. Dust jacket has moderate scattered edge wear and aging including small tears. VG. Book is Exc. The remaining 30 items in this lot are promotional stills, photos, etc. for the 1968 cult classic film starring Jane Fonda. These items include a pair of small size 8x10” full color lobby cards, six bw 8x10” stills with Paramount Pictures information on bottom margins, nineteen 8x10” bw glossies all with something on reverses be it “Barbarella” ink stamp, hand-written notation, text strip, photographer information, etc. Final 3 items are 5x7” glossy photos. Great assortment of images, most are film scenes but there are candid shots, behind the scenes images, costume sketch designs, image used on front cover of the book in this lot, etc. Several topless shots. About half feature Jane Fonda. Scattered trace of margin wear/aging but overall group is Fine to Exc. An exceptional group. This material was originally contained in an envelope with interoffice notations from Warren Publishing, that envelope is now included in lot #2703.
