Item Description
8.25x10.75” publication with 16 pages “A Panther Pixtar On Brian Jones Of The Rolling Stones.” Publication has several bw photos of Rolling Stones founding member Brian Jones with some brief text. ©1964 Panther Books Ltd. Jones, a multi-instrumentalist who incorporated a variety of different sounds into the Rolling Stones’ music output was instrumental in the founding of the band, placing an advertisement in a local publication inviting musicians to audition for a new music group – The Rolling Stones being the end result. Jones is also credited for giving the band its name. In May 1968, Jones’ drug abuse, mood swings and health issues forced his bandmates to kick him out of the band. He was later discovered at the bottom of his swimming pool at his home around midnight, July 2-3, 1969. His cause of death was ruled “Death By Misadventure” and continues to stir debate to this day. One inside page with nice full page bw photo portrait of Jones has been signed by him in blue ink on his white shirt so autograph stands out nicely. Superb signature. Magazine has some handling wear with pinch creases to spine and creases at corners. Fine+ with Exc. signature area. Comes with PSA/DNA letter of authenticity and Hake’s COA.
