Item Description
Three items. c. late 1950s. 12.25x19.5" die-cut thin cardboard easel-back sign has choice graphics w/wonderful design of smiling Howdy standing full figure holding sign which reads "Howdy Doody NBC-TV Saturday Morning" w/die-cut slot to insert paper ballots. Comes w/full 4.25x6" pad of illustrated ballots w/photo of Howdy at upper right and photos of nine different children designed for user to pick one, check off and mail to "Howdy Doody Smiles" with Radio City Station New York address. Contest was open to "Children 10 Years And Younger Eligible To Vote" w/space for their name and address. Also includes 8-3/8x11" printed letter from Howdy Doody show producer Roger Muir noting "Displays Can Be Utilized Through February 10, 1958 For Ballots, And Perhaps Can Be Of Value As Promotional Pieces Beyond This Voting Deadline". Easel and punch out area for insertion of ballot tab are complete. Letter has a few lt. creases at upper and lower right hand corners, display and ballot pad are N.Mint. Very Rare. A wonderful Howdy Doody item.
