Item Description
8.5x10-7/8" issue for March 1956 has classic photo of smiling Alston in uniform in stadium. Has nice "Walt Alston" ballpoint pen autograph in white chest area. Upper right of cover has text "Walter Alston Man Of The Year". March issue has 96 pages with some color. Contents include articles on Early Wynn, NBA Basketball, and nice graphics of "Sports Top Performers Of 1955" with art of Alston in center surrounded by other sports figures including Roy Campanella, Bill Russell, and Rocky Marciano. Alston led the Brooklyn Dodgers to their only World Championship in 1955. Bottom spine tip has tiny tear, a few minor handling creases just visible in reflective light. Overall VF with Exc. autograph. Comes with Hake's COA.
