Item Description
Three items. 3.5x4 3/8" slip of paper has bold ink autograph “To Douglas Best Of Luck Rick Nelson”. Very slight and lt. tanning to blank top margin edges, autograph itself is Exc. Comes with 3 3/8x4.5" September 11, 1941 bw photo showing a young Harry McLaughlin wearing sweater and tie with his arm around band leader Ozzie Nelson and then singer Harriet Hilliard with all three smiling. Most likely taken during their appearance at the Valencia Ballroom in York, PA, a noted Big Band venue. Photo was taken a year after Harry graduated. Photo has lt. creasing. Fine. Third item is 3.5x3.5" glossy candid photo c. late 1950s with smiling Rick Nelson standing between McLaughlin's children, Donna and Douglas McLaughlin, with young Douglas looking at his father's photo with Rick's parents, the same photo being sold in this lot. A few lt. handling creases just visible in reflected. Near Exc. Interesting group of family association items. From the collection of newspaper editor Harry McLaughlin and comes with Hake’s COA.
