Extensive lot of 11 items from event held December 5, 1980 at Strand-Capitol Theater in York, PA. 8x10" promotional glossy has wonderful image of smiling Basie tipping his yachting cap with bold black ink “Count Basie” signature in clear area at upper left. Photo has numerous lt. handling creases. Will mat and frame to VF appearance. Comes with group of eight candid photos, each 3.5x5" showing Count Basie and his band performing. One photo has ballpoint pen note on back “Marshall Royal on Sax-Solo”. Another has ink note on back that photos are for “Around Town York Dispatch” May 14 edition showing Count Basie at York’s Club 615 in 1980. Group comes with 6x9" paper program with eight pages detailing noted jazz musicians career between 1936 and 1961 including winning “Downbeats” top jazz band poll in 1954 and 1956. Final item is 1.5x3" ticket stub for personal appearance at Strand-Capitol Theater in York, PA. Photos have a few minor handling creases just visible in reflected light, otherwise photos, program and ticket stub are Exc. From the collection of newspaper editor Harry McLaughlin and comes with Hake’s COA.
