28.1/8x34.5". c.1900. Overall intricately designed with great detail has 18.25x22.5" glass covered opening in center with image of battleship Maine steaming along on sea with stars border set against shield with draped American flags with large eagle at top in center with text “Remember the Maine”. Crushed velvet is on outer frame to show through scroll work. Fabric background is also behind center image. Trace of lt. aging with a few minor color rubs on wood but overall Fine/VF. Superb display item with incredible detail and wonderful design which must have taken quite a while to produce.
