Item Description
8.75x11.25" hard cover ©1990 and 2003 by Joe Simon and Jim Simon published by Vanguard Productions. Book has 194 high quality slick paper pages extensively illustrated with photos and drawings from Simon’s long career in comic books including his work with Jack Kirby. Dust wrapper has nice front cover art of superhero juggling four other superheroes and back cover has art of Simon at the drawing board surrounded by superheroes tumbling through air. Second inside page titled “The Comic Book Makers” has hand-lettered “Captain America on Your Side” text in silver ink at top and wonderful 6x6" ink and water color art of crouching Captain America holding shield facing viewer signed “Joe Simon 2006". Book was obtained directly from Mr. Simon at the San Diego Comic Con in 2006. N.Mint. Lavishly illustrated inside story of the Golden Age of American comic books by an artist who was there.
